The streams are calming down finally so the fishing will improve. Having our pond available till the 14th sure is an early season luxury!

When I babysit my granddaughter, we walk on the rail trail near her house. The oaks along the edge of the woods have a lot of tip twigs on the ground along with the shells of acorns.

The weather was great and we had enough folks for a full squad. It’s a nicer pace when we have a full squad. As fall arrives, we will depend more and more on the lights. Lights and shattering clay targets are almost as neat as fireworks.

I have a Canon PowerShot A510 and I’m slowly learning how to use it. It’s a long time between pressing the shutter and the picture getting took so this was all luck getting three pieces of clay target in the air.
Almost time for the new hunting and fishing license year to begin. Back when I started, all the small game seasons started October 1st. Anyone remember when the squirrel season start was moved to September 1st?
With the weather switching from cool and crisp back to hot and sultry, it takes a little extra effort to get excited about the new season. Once you get out into the woods and start looking and listening, the excitement all comes back though.
